Exclusions
(Exclusions to Personal Property)
There
is no standard policy that will cover all sources of damages
and depending on the policy you carry you may find certain
exclusions to coverage provided towards your
personal property.
Additional
coverage can be applied through “endorsements”,
“floaters” and “riders” to meet
your needs of insurance coverage.
Exclusions
to the following coverage on personal property can be found
under Section I (Coverage C) Personal Property.
Coverage
Does Not Apply To:
Property
separately insured under another insurance
policy or separately
described and specifically insured
under the policy.
Pets (dogs, cats, birds, fish, etc.).
Motor
vehicles or all other motorized and
conveyances.
Keep in mind that a policy will cover vehicles or
conveyances that are not subject to motor vehicle
registration such as:
•
an
electric wheelchair
•
a
rider mower
Aircraft and
parts unless it is a model aircraft and not
used or designed to
carry people or cargo.
Property
of roomers, boarders and other tenants unless
related to the insured.
Property in an
apartment that is regularly rented or held
for rental to
others. (Coverage may be applied under
Additional Coverage.)
Property that
is rented or held for rental to others off the
residence
premises. Excluded coverage in a particular
section of a policy may be provided under Additional
Coverage. Keep in mind that
coverage may be limited to
a dollar amount and exclusions
may apply.
Books of
account and drawings.
(Bookkeeping records on paper, on electronic data, on
computer software such as discs or other media.)
Keep
in mind that coverage may apply to cover the cost
of blank
recording or storage media and of pre recorded
computer
programs.
Stolen credit
cards, lost credit cards or the misplacement
of your credit
cards. Excluded coverage in a particular
section of a policy may be provided under Additional
Coverage. Depending on the
policy you carry, coverage
will differ from a Basic Policy,
Broad Policy and Special
Policy.
Exclusions Applying To All HO
Policies:

following exclusions applying to all HO Policies can be
found under Section I Exclusions.)
Coverage
(protection) is excluded under all HO Policies for
the following listed perils (damages from certain
circumstances).
Ordinance or Law
Earth movement
Water damage
Power failure
War
Nuclear hazard
Intentional loss
Neglect
