Additional
Coverage
The following information applies to an HO 3 Policy
which is the most purchased Homeowners Insurance
Policy. Should the policy you currently have is
any other than an HO 3 and have any questions
pertaining to coverage, we encourage that you seek the
aide of an insurance expert
who can help answer any questions and assist you
with the review of coverage offered by the policy
you currently have or are thinking about purchasing.

Additional
coverage is provided within the policy and do not
increase the premium of the policy. Keep in
mind that the peril (damages from certain
circumstances) which causes the damage must be
covered by the HO Policy in order to put into effect
the additional coverage provided.
The
following additional property related coverage can
be found

Property.
Reasonable
repairs coverage.
Debris
removal coverage.
Trees,
shrubs, and other plants coverage.
Fire
department charges coverage.
Personal
property removal coverage.
Unauthorized
use of credit card(s) coverage.
Loss
assessment coverage.
Collapse
coverage.
Glass
coverage.
Landlord
furnishings coverage.
REASONABLE
REPAIRS COVERAGE
Coverage
towards reasonable repairs is provided under
additional property related coverage.
Coverage
will apply to the reasonable cost incurred (by you)
for taking necessary measures to protect your
property from damages caused by a peril (damages
from certain circumstances) listed under the policy.
EXAMPLE:
The strong winds of a windstorm caused damage to
your roof and you took necessary measures to do
temporary repairs to help prevent any damages to
your personal property (contents) and interior of
your home. Reasonable repairs coverage would
apply towards the cost for the temporary repair you
provided to help protect your property. Be
sure that you maintain receipts of your purchased
materials as your insurance company will reimburse
you for the cost towards your temporary repairs.
REMEMBER
Payments for any temporary repairs you do to the
roof, walls, doors and even covering your shattered
windows with plastic or board will be reimbursed
only if the damage is caused by a listed peril
(damages from certain circumstances) covered under
the policy.
DEBRIS REMOVAL
COVERAGE
Coverage
towards debris removal is provided under additional
property related coverage.
The cause of loss to your property by fire which is a
covered peril under any Homeowners Insurance Policy will
certainly leave an amount of debris to be removed as part
of the repair operations.
Keep
in mind that the cost for debris removal is included
in the limit of liability that applies to damaged
property. Should the cost for the actual damage to
the property and the cost of the debris removal
exceed the dollar amount in the limits of liability
that the policy provides, an additional 5 percent of
the limit of liability coverage will kick in (debris
removal coverage) and be applied towards the cost of
the debris removal expense.
Coverage
will be provided in the dollar amount of $500
dollars towards the removal of a tree(s) that is on
the residence premises do to damage caused by a
listed peril (damages from certain circumstances)
covered under the policy.
Be
advised that even though the removal of a tree or
trees is provided, an exclusion applies to the
coverage and the expense included for the removal of
a tree or trees from within your residence premises
is limited to coverage in the dollar amount of $500
dollars per loss and not per tree.
TREES, SHRUBS AND OTHER PLANTS COVERAGE
Coverage
towards trees, shrubs and other plants is provided
(without a deductible) under additional property
related coverage.
Trees,
shrubs, plants (located on your residence premises)
and lawn will be covered under additional property
related coverage against damage caused by the
following perils (damages from certain
circumstances).
Fire
Lightning
Hail
Explosion
Riot or civil commotion
Aircraft
